Free Wood = Build Some Shelves

Finally homes are being built again on our street. As I watched the transformation of the street I couln't help but notice all the quality wood that gets thrown away into the dumpsters. Free wood just sitting there for the taking, what to do? I looked at my garage and noticed the mess and knew that shelves were required to clean up some of this.

After a couple nights dumpster diving around the neigborhood I finally had exactly what we needed. I got to work and a couple hours later....WaaaLaaa.

I know what you're thinking, hey Brad it still looks messy. Well it's a huge improvement from what we had before. Amber told me I should have taken a before and after pic but we don't have any before pics so just trust me.

Fathers Day Gift

So let me tell you how smart Amber is. Somehow Amber convinced me that I wanted plants for my Father's Day. What she knew and I later found out is that she was 9 moves ahead of me from the beginning. Knowing that once I did the work and planted a few it would turn into many, not because she wanted more but because I would.

Here we are 5 weekends later and finally a finished Fathers Day gift. We are very pleased with the results even though it cost me a lot more than a few plants in both time and money. We are extremely lucky to have a nice retired couple across the street who love gardening. They helped a lot and gave us many of their plants that were overgrowing.

We had our ultrasound today, and we found out what we are having. Little baby Cheyanne will be joining our family in November. We are so excited to have a baby girl around the house. We are teaching Brock how to say her name and he is doing really well, in a couple months I think he will have it down. We can't wait to see her and meet her cute litte personality. Enjoy the pics.

It's about time

Well over six months have gone by and i am finally gettimg around to making a new blog post. As you can see it isn't high on my priority list. But thanks to all for pleadings to post some pictures, I am finally doing it.

We have had an eventful last 6 months or so. We started another new business in January, we went on a great trip to Mexico with friends, we have enjoyed the ups and downs of parenting and yes we are pregnant again. (Due Thanksgiving day)

Brock has grown up so much. He is now a little boy and not my baby. He started walking around Thanksgiving 09 and hasn't stopped. He loves to talk and just repeat the same words over and over again. His favorite thing to repeat right now is "truck truck truck". We will be driving and he will say that for 10 minutes staight, it is so fun! He loves to play outside and push anything he can push around, especially strollers. Unfortionatly we don't have a very toddler safe backyard yet so we play in the front yard which isn't my favorite. He also has loved the pool this year, he loves to splash in and have water splashed in his face, it is so cute he just laughs and laughs. We love him so much and love to watch him grow. Here are pics of him the last few months.

We went to Mazatlan Mexico in may with some friends from our ward, the Townsends and the Ravstens. We had a blast. We did 3 different time share presentations and got most of the food and activities for free. The time share presentations defiently weren't the highlight of the trip, but they only lasted about 90 minutes (the first one was only 2 minutes, no joke, that is why we went on the other ones) so it was worth it when you look at what we got in exchange. We would totally do it again. The boys played golf, us girls got massages, we got a ton of free food, free deep sea fishing, and some other things I can't remember it all. We had so much fun relaxing by the pool and the beach. The boys did some body surfing and the girls did some shopping while sunbathing.

So far we have had a great year. We are excited to be expanding our family. We find out in a week what we are having so that I will try to be prompt at posting what the baby is.

Sorry it has taken me so long to blog about our diamond hunt, obviously we didn't find the diamond. But we had a blast riding our bikes around Denver. It was so fun to do that together. Here are some pics from the day.

So a radio station here in Denver is doing a scavanger hunt for a $15,000 diamond ring. I enter and Brad and I were selected to participate. We are so excited. Of course we would love to win the ring, but even if we don't we are going to have a blast riding our bikes around downtown. I will take pictures and post them later. WISH US LUCK.

I can't believe it. It has been a year. The last year has gone by so fast, and now we have a one year old. We had his party last weekend at our neighborhood pool and had such a great time. We are so happy we were able to spend this special day with our family and friends. Brock loves all the toys and clothes he got. Brock's first camping trip!

A couple weekends ago, we went camping with our friends Aaron and Margot. We had such a great time and Brock did great. IT was pretty cold at night and we did get a little rain, but we still had so much fun. WE went camping by a lake that we could hike down to, so we were able to go fishing with our new fishing poles. Unfortunately i didn't catch a fish however Brad and our friend Aaron did. Some day I will catch a fish and when I do you all will hear about it. We can't wait to go again. Enjoy the pics.

Visit to Omaha

So it's official, we have started another business. We had an opportunity come our way and after lots of prayer and pondering we decided to leave Jones and start all over again. Scary? Yes! We are throwing all we got at this project so hopefully it works out. We teamed up with some neighbors that we have befriended and have jumped in with both feet. You can check out the company if you like www.unitedconsumerservices.com Actually we are not starting from ground zero because we acquired the guts of an existing company out of Vegas. Guts, meaning the insides, all the info we need without the clients. We were not sure if the clients would stay after the acquisition so we chose not to risk more money for a potential disaster. We are very excited, we signed up our first two clients this week which was our goal. Next week we are going for 3 and then 4 until we get to 8 a week. We are also looking for people who would like to open up their own sales office or offer our services themselves from home or an office. We will handle the clients after the sell, all they would have to do is sign the clients up. Oh yeah, I guess I should tell you what the business is. DEBT SETTLEMENT basically we will be negotiating lump sum payments for people who have fallen behind on their credit cards or any unsecured credit line.
We are going to grow this to be the premier debt settlement company in the industry and could use everyones help.
That's our update! Brock is still the cutest kid in the world. Amber, well she is pretty cute herself and as for me....well we all know that story. :)

It has been way to long since I last posted anything and now I don't know where to start. I guess I will start at Thanksgiving.

We spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas this year with Brad's parents and sister Lori. We had a great time, we went to a show (Mystique by Circue de Solie), we went out to eat alot (which we love doing while we are there), and I finally learned and caught on to the game that Brad and his Parents love to play. Everytime we go there they love to play this game called Acquire and I have never been able to grasp the concept of the game, but this time the light went on and I think I finally have figured it out. I still haven't won yet but at least when I play I don't get so upset that I refuse to play the game again for the rest of the trip. Brad is very proud of me. YAY! We had a great time spending time with his family, we don't get to see them nearly enough.

December was a crazy month. I started back at work full time, which is a bummer but I am very lucky to have such a great job. It was really hard leaving Brock the first week back, but it has gotten easier. We are so lucky to have my Mom watch Brock once a week and then we have a Great babysitter the other 3 days. Tara (babysitter) is in our ward and she is so great with Brock and we feel completely comfortable leaving him with her. Unfortunatly we are probably going to be loosing her the end of February, they will probably be moving and we are going to miss her horribly.

We had a great Christmas. We spent it with my family here in Colorado. It was so fun getting everything decorated for Brock's first Christmas. And he is so cheap to buy for right now because he doesn't care how many gifts he gets. We bought him a cute little outfit and that was it and that was enough. Both Brad's parents and my parents spoiled him enough and he ended up getting more presents then the both of us combined.

Brock ended up catching a cold a couple days before Christmas. I think it was hardest on me because I felt so bad for him, and of course since he is my first I overreacted to the cold and took him to the Hospital one night because my doctor wasn't on call. His cold ended up turning into a double ear infection. I wanted to so bad to be able to take the illness away from him and me be sick instead. unfortunatly that isn't possible and he is better now and hopefully I will do better next time and not overreact.

For New Years we went out with my brother Josh and his wife Ashley. We went to an 80's party that a couple in our ward was having. We had a blast. The best part was getting dressed up. I may have gone overboard on my costume,(I didn't match very well) but I don't care it was fun. It was good to spend time with Josh and Ashley we don't get to see them enough.

All in all it has been a busy but fun last couple of months. We are so thankful to have our families and friends in our lives.

We are so happy to see gas prices falling. We filled up this weekend for under $2 for the first time in forever. I was so excited I had to take a picture. Lets hope they keep falling.

Brock's blessing weekend

We blessed Brock the weekend of Halloween. I know I'm a little behind in my blogging :( We had such a great weekend. We spent Halloween with the Watt family and had such a great time getting all the grandkids together. The next night we went to White Fence Farm with the Fausett family and had so much fun there. We love that place, there is so much to do there for kids, if you haven't been there before we highly recommend it.
Sunday we blessed Brock. We are so happy to have him in our family, and it was such a sweet experience to hear the blessing Brad gave to him. We are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for sending us Brock. And we are so thankful for the knowledge the we have of Eternal Families. I can't imaging going through this lifetime without that knowledge.
We want to thank everyone who came to the blessing and traveled so far to spend this weekend with us. We love you all.

Halloween Fun

We really enjoyed having a baby to dress up for Halloween this year, it sure does make the holiday more enjoyable for us. Brock was so cute in his Dragon costume. We spent the day with family. The day pretty much involved just a lot of picture taking with his cousins Kaitlyn and London, but it was still fun.

I sold my 4 wheeler today and it was very hard to do. I sure did love riding it. It's amazing because I have probably only ridden it twice in the last year and neither time was ultra exciting. I found a nice buyer for it, a farmer from Nebraska, so I am sure he will put it to good use. I realized that I probably won't go Elk hunting again until Brock is a little older so there was no real reason to keep the ATV.
Now if I could just find the time to ride my bikes I could probably take care of this expanding waist line I am getting.

Looks like the date change didn't matter in the end. August 27th @ 1:34 PM Amber gave birth to Brock. He weighed in at 7 lbs 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Amber's water broker at 11:30 PM the night before and we began the labor process. She was dilated to a 10 by 9:30 AM but her contractions stopped. We finally started pushing at 10:30 AM and gave birth to baby Brock 2 hours later.

Date Change

I guess I spoke a little to soon. I just got of the phone with my doctor's office and they want to change the date that they induce me. We are now getting induced a day later. Aug 29 (fri). It is just a day later but I am still bummed, not only do we have to wait one more day to meet our little guy, I really liked the date 8-28-08. Oh well what can you do. Wish us luck.

We went to the doctor today and have set a date to be induced if we don't go into labor before. August 28 we are going to be parents. Yikes! We are so excited. So I have one week to get the house in order and everything ready. Since I have stopped working I should have plenty of time to get everything done. Brad the World Traveler

Ok maybe not "world traveler" but close. Brad has been out of town 4 out of the last 5 weeks for one reason or another. I am glad he is done. I joined him on a couple of the trips and that was enough for me. I need my own bed to sleep in.
First he went to Las Vegas to transfer some business accounts for a client. He was only there for a couple days but he had fun playing the game Acquire with his parents. (he doesn't get to play that often when I'm around because I'm the biggest fan. Sorry!)
We then both went to California for his friend Patrick's wedding. It was nice to be there but it was so hot and humid. We went to the beach where Brad got to go body boarding, and lost his wedding ring. Luckily it was his and not mine. The wedding was beautiful and Stephanie had a gorgeous dress. However the hotel Brad and I stayed at was less than impressive. We had reservations at one hotel for the whole trip, but after one night I told Brad there is no way I could stay there another night. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, I got no sleep. So we checked out and moved to another hotel on the condition that we could get a refund on the first hotel. We were told we could, but it has yet to come. The second hotel however didn't have a queen bed it only had 2 full sized beds, so we ended up sleeping on separate beds, which ended working out ok because I didn't wake up Brad every time I had to get out of bed to go to the bathroom. Both the hotels were very old and not taken very good care of. After that experience I told Brad we will only be staying at chain hotels that we know are nice for now on.
The following weekend Brad's company had their summer regional conference in Steamboat Springs. I also went on this trip. The hotel was very nice, I was super excited! It was so beautiful there. If Brad and I can every afford a vacation home I think it might be there. The town is still a small ski town, so it has a lot of charm. We went down the alpine slide, walked around the downtown area and just caught up on our sleep. It was a very relaxing trip. It was very nice of Edward Jones to pay for this trip. They do a trip like this every year for their advisers and families. We are so lucky that Brad was able to get this job. He has been doing great and I am so proud of him.
Brad then had a week home before he had to go the St Louis for a couple of days for training. This trip was short, he was only gone for 2 nights. I hate being home alone so I was very happy it wasn't like his other training trips that are a week long. This was the last trip of the summer. We are now just going to be busy getting ready for the baby. We are both happy to have a couple months at home to spend together.

It's Official, We Have A Name.

We have finally decided on a name for our little guy. Drum roll please........... It is Brock James Fausett. We think it will fit him well and we are so excited to welcome him to the world. We had to buy a plane tickets to go to Vegas for Thanksgiving, so we had to give a name for the ticket. So there is no changing it now.

OH BOY IT'S O TOWN

Okay so this is hilarious and if I don't write it down now I will probably forget. So Amber and I were in California at my friends wedding (Patio) great wedding and reception by the way. Wade, my friend from Cali was sitting next to us and kept asking me where we knew the MC of the night from. I had no idea, I had never seen him before. While the MC was very good and entertaining Wade insisted that he went to school with us.

Finally Patrick and his lovely bride (Stephanie) came over and answered the Wades question. "How do I know this guy?"

Pat answered that this guy was in the boy band O Town which I guess was created from a show called Making the Band on MTV.

So I found two things very funny here:
1) Why is this guy Trevor MCing a wedding, I thought he was a big star. Who knows maybe we will see the boys of NSYNC doing high school graduations next.
In his defense....He was very good at what he does, very entertaining.

2) Here poses my second question, why did Wade recognize this guy? He told me he was "shamefully a fan of the show." I think it is something more. I went to the OTown website and it looks like the band was created somewhere around 2002. 6 years have gone by since the show. I think Wade was or still is a huge fan of the band and quite possibly could have posters of Trevor and his buddies plastered all over his room. How else would you recognize this guy?

I should be nicer because Wade will probably never read this post and therefor will not be able to defend himself but come on that's funny.

Weekly update

I think the biggest obstacle Amber and I see with this new blogging lifestyle is not having anything to say. So I am about to give you an update on our incredibly interesting week. We both went to work and came home this entire week. We planted some new plants in the front of the home and we went to see IronMan. Now we were both very against seeing this movie because we thought it would be another stupid comic book but finally gave in today because of all the great reviews. I will tell you if you have not seen it i would recommend going because it is very good.

Besides the movie and did I mention Shawn Heer getting kicked out of Brendon's soccer game over the weekend it was pretty boring. In Shawns defense I still really don't know what happened other than them having maybe the worst soccer referee ever. I will tell you this, it was the funniest thing I have seen in a pretty long time. Another Dad got kicked out as well for attempting to stick up for Shawn.....Can you say over board!

Correction!

I think I need to correct some statements made earlier in my blog. While it is true I did shave my head, I did not, nor will I ever shave my head completely. I left it at my normal length of a 2. I think this looks good on me, I am comfortable with this amount of shortness and more likely than not, I will continue to keep this length until I am completely bald. Or until my wife makes me change it. : )

Home Alone

Well just as the title reads, I am home alone this weekend. Amber has flown to Utah for her cousins wedding and left me here to my own devices. Normally this would end up being a disaster but this time I had plenty to do. So far today I have cleaned the kitchen, done the laundry, cleaned out the garage, gone for a nice bike ride, washed Amber's car and shaved my head. Oh I almost forgot I paid the bills and mowed the lawn as well. I wish everyone could see the lawn right now because it looks frickin good.

So what shall I do tomorrow? I really have no idea. I could finish painting the nursery, wash my truck, pick up after the dog in the back. I will probably just enjoy my time at home. Watch some golf and the Lakers game. <------- Going all the way. Man I am starving! Maybe I should eat something.

Well not actually but pretty darn close. We just had our baby measured, and that was a mistake because we found out that our baby is all head and no body. For Real! Like cartoonish size. We still love him just as much as we did on day one when we found out we were pregnant. So what am I talking about you ask? Let me just give you some figures. Body 36 percentile and Head size 85 percentile. Yeah he is going to be a genius. I'm talking Socrates, Bill Gates, and Einstein all mixed together. Sorry Amber because that head will be the first thing coming out. YIKES!

Unhealthy Dude

Well I have been waiting for a couple days now to hear the results of my blood test. Still no news, but last week my doctor told my I had high blood pressure. 160 over 110 Yikes! Pretty darn high. I have been having numbness in my arms and legs and lots of pain in my joints so Amber finally forced me to the doctor. The doc wants me to get an MRI but I am holding off until we hear the blood results.

On happier news.....I finally felt our baby kick. He kicks pretty darn hard which tells me he could very well be a Soccer player (not so exciting for me) sorry Brendon. Either way it was very cool, I am very happy to finally feel something. Maybe finally feeling the baby will drop the blood pressure...you know, no more stress from my wife DEMANDING I place my hand on her belly for weeks.

It has been confirmed by our technician that we are having a baby boy! If you don't believe me then look at the arrow our nurse placed on the picture for us. So I am ecstatic and Amber is happy as well. More news.....We are officially done having kids now that Brad has his Baby Boy. What's the name going to be? Who knows. Brock, Brody, Keane, Colby, Teagan, Trig, Deacon, Nolan, Brad, BJ, Jonas, the list goes on and on and on. Check out the pics!

Grand Opening

Okay, we get it we have to build a blog. Man I don't know how many times we have heard this over the last year. So here are you happy? Now of course we run into the same problem that has kept us from ever doing one of these in the first place. WHAT R WE GOING TO TALK ABOUT?
I know I have never been short on words before, but when it comes to sharing our thoughts, our happenings, our trials do we really want that posted on this infinite network system called the WWW. When did this become the norm anyway? When did we all resort to sharing information about ourselves through wires? Life was so good when we actually picked up phones (not cellular) but regular rotary household phones. We didn't send text message, but we had conversations where we could hear the persons voice and understand the true feelings behind the words they spoke. We don't even laugh anymore we just type LOL......WHAT?

As much as I am against this I know it will please my sisters, Jenny, Lori, Kim, Ann (Ann could care less) so it must be worth it. I hope this pleases the hearts of those who read it. If it encourages just one person to pick up the phone and call to just say hello it will be worth it. Think of how good it will feel to just say what's on your mind, just blurting something out in a emotional wreck. Come on, aren't we all tired of erasing every other line we type because we thought about a better more appropriate word to use or a more elegant way to write that sentence.

Since it must be I will continue writing the most elegant, most uplifting, and most pain staking honest and thought provoking substance on the net. I am so LOL right now. CYA
